College of Dentistry - Dean's Message

At the College of Dentistry, King Saud University, our vision is to integrate research activities within the undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum. At the dental school we aim to create an environment of research based critical thinking among our graduates where the groundbreaking research we conduct will provide new knowledge and offer solutions in clinical settings. Scientific research is a core tool for the success of higher education and our students should be at its forefront. With the new direction of Saudi Arabia heading towards graduate studies and research, our college has taken great strides to uphold this vision.

To fulfill the research goals of the dental school our focus also includes training of students in various advanced techniques and methodologies using state of the art machinery. Therefore the Molecular and Cell Biology Laboratory stands at the forefront of dental student training and research support for student contributions in the advancement of dental science.

Our aim is to acclimatize maximum students with scientific research in order to broaden their vision. With limitless possibilities these students will prepare themselves for international research forum and flourish at renowned research universities worldwide.
The research faculty members at the college provide students with the best guidance and the school affirms the availability of state of the art facilities to complete the circle of research.

The principle aim for Molecular and Cell Biology (MCB) Laboratory and such similar facilities at the College of Dentistry, is to promote research activities locally and in collaboration with international teams, in developing optimum dental treatment strategies, contemporary materials and oral health policies for the community. This in turn will lead our students to pioneer the development of dental tools and materials regionally and globally.

PNHRC General Director Message

Mankind has ever been seeking to discover the secrets of the universe and its mechanisms in order to coexist with its components and to discover the future in addition to feeding its passionate knowledge instincts. On top of these comes man's knowledge of his body's nature in health and illnesses that affect it the precautions to avoid them.

Nowadays, the research centers are not only meant to fulfill these goals; but, they should contribute into the nations' economy. We won't be exaggerating if we say that the nations' values are measured by their scientific status and by the knowledge and science-based incomes of their research centers as well as by the translation of these researches into services and products.

The center had many initiatives the most important of which is the establishment of strong foundation based on a clear strategy that will lead the scientific health research to a new stage that can provide evidence-based health services which are stemmed from the local environment.

In the midst of these endeavors and until the completion of the construction of buildings of Prince Naif Health Research Center, my colleagues in the center had many efforts including the opening of this electronic window to define the center. They also work to recruit national and international talents and they facilitate communication with the center's international counterparts.
